Graphic Design is the art and process of combining text and images to communicate an effective message. Students in their sophomore year focus on various 2D applications and the development of a visual idea as well as learning industry-standard imaging programs in their Technology class. Design students in their junior year apply their drawing, technology and compositional skills to a series of commercially based projects that support their final portfolio. Typography, color theory, pre-press, page layout, logo design, and promotional advertising are some of the concepts explored. Senior design students expand on their design projects into publications, surface textile design and web-design while preparing their portfolio for college admission and their final professional review.
