WELCOME TO FRESHMAN FOUNDATION 

 

The High School of Art & Design’s Freshman Foundation program immerses 9th grade students in an exploration of art and design concepts, skills, and critical practices, training them to become problem-solvers, creative thinkers, strong art-makers, and life-long learners, all through the lens of social impact and empathy. Our comprehensive curriculum offers a survey of approaches to both digital and analog art mediums that not only prepares students for any one of our eight excellent Art & CTE Majors, but enables them to explore careers in media and art through a more interdisciplinary approach.
